WINNO'S WINNERS: GOLD COAST, MAY 9, 2026
By Darren Winningham | Friday, May 8, 2026
GOLD COAST races this week with nine races scheduled for decision. This weekend the feature race is the Group 2 AD Hollindale Stakes with the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas also on the card – all great form guides for the Winter Carnival in Brisbane in the coming months.
The track is rated ‘Soft’. The rail is in the true position. There is rain forecast – so the track may be downgraded. We must just keep our eyes on the weather.
Angela Jones had a misfortune this week – an unfortunate incident and subsequent injury. She will bounce back from an extended layoff and hopefully be ready for next season, if not before.
NB: As these selections were made prior to race-day, please check for any changes to track conditions and for any scratchings on the day.
