JADEN LLOYD TO TAKE AN EXTENDED, TWO MONTH BREAK FROM RACE RIDING

By Graham Potter | Friday, July 8, 2022

Apprentice Jockey Jaden Lloyd, will not be back when his current suspension, handed to him last Saturday on Caloundra Cup Day, ends on July 20.

Lloyd, who landed his fiftieth metropolitan winner for the season at the same meeting, will be taking an extended break from race riding.

The decision was confirmed by his management in the following release:

‘After much deliberation between Jaden’s masters. Jaden and ourselves, we have decided it is in his best interests to step back and take two months away from race riding, to serve his suspensions and refresh mentally and physically.

“Like with many sportsmen and women, especially those so young, we need to ensure his well-being is first and foremost, and he will therefore be finishing his current season after Saturday’s meeting and will not ride for the remainder of the season.’

Lloyd has much to be proud of over the last twelve months. He fought out the Brisbane Apprentice Jockey’s Premiership with Kyle Wilson-Taylor for much of the season and he also sits in a noteworthy fifth place on the Brisbane Metropolitan Jockeys’ Premiership.
