WINNO'S WINNERS: ROSEHILL, JUNE 4

By Darren Winningham | Friday, June 3, 2016

The rail is true this week with a heavy track forecast. Special mention this week to Chief Steward Ray Murrihy who retires after 46 years in racing, with the last 21 in Sydney. Love him or hate him he brought credibility and integrity to NSW racing. With the NRL’s latest turmoil regarding alleged match fixing maybe Mr Murrihy will be snapped up by the NRL to lead there integrity and betting areas ...

**As this form assessment was made prior to raceday, please check final fields and track conditions for any changes on the day.

Race 1

Legerity (1) should go well here with a claim for apprentice Koby Jennings. The stable mate Palladian (5), with Andrew Adkins on it, should be the hardest to beat.

Selections: 1-5-6-3.

********************************************************************************************************

Race 2

Sampeah (3) has got some great wet track form and has been racing consistently and at $11 represents good value here. Ravi (2) from the Snowden yard was impressive first up from a wide barrier.

Selections: 3-2-6-10.

*********************************************************************************************************

Race 3

A Class 2 race on a Saturday - on a heavy track leave me out! For the record Pure Choice (14) to get a nice run with no weight on its back.

Selections: 14-4-5-9. Rough chance 3.

********************************************************************************************************

Race 4

Marenostro (5) won well first up and goes good on wet tracks. Ryker (9) ran a good second to Marenostro last time they met.

Selections: 5-4-9-3

********************************************************************************************************

Race 5

Piamimi (5) ran home well in the Luskin Star Stakes at Scone last start – since then the form has been franked with Music Magnate coming out and winning the Doomben 10,000 last week.. Distraught (4) and Pindan Pearl (6) have been racing well.

Selections: 5-4-6-10. Rough chance 8.

*********************************************************************************************************

Race 6

Roguish (13) was unlucky last start finishing a fast fourth and beaten less than half-a-length and is the likely leader here. Supply and Demand (3) from the Waterhouse stables has been running well. Gary Moore has been on a roll with another winner this week at Doomben and has Classic Uniform (5) engaged here – maybe will improve second up from a spell.

Selections: 13-3-5-8.

********************************************************************************************************

Race 7 – Monaco Cup

Farolitos (3) has a great record on wet tracks and benefits from a three kilogram claim for apprentice Andrew Adkins. Consign (5) and Disgraceful (6) from the Chris Waller stables look the likely dangers here.

Selections: 3-5-6-8.

*********************************************************************************************************

Race 8

The form for this race comes out of the recent Scone Cup. High Midnight (8), Tales of Grimm (5) and Less is More (6) all really didn’t get a real chance to stretch out in the last 200 metres of the race and with some clear running here should be in the finish. Sons of John (1) raced in the same race – has a heap of weight and is the class runner of the field.

Selections 8-5-1-6.

***********************************************************************************************************

Race 9

I tipped Painte (5) last start and it saluted and great odds of $8. Looks a tougher assignment here but does race well on wet tracks. The interesting runner is the Bjorn Baker trained Encostanati (13) which has been trialling well for this first up assignment – it won a nice trial two weeks ago at Randwick. Powerline (1) has been racing consistently but has a big weight and looks like it only likes soft ground. McCreery (3) has had a few months off and always races well fresh – could be some value here.

Selections 5-13-3-1. Rough chances 4 and 6.

*********************************************************************************************************

Quaddie (races 6 to 9) - 3, 5, 13 / 3, 5, 6 / 5, 6, 8 / 3, 5, 13 - cost $81 for $1

Value Quaddie (races 6 to 9) - 3, 13 / 3, 5, 6 / 5, 8 / 5, 13 - cost $24 for $1

Mad Quaddie (races 6 to 9) - 13 / 3, 6 / 5, 8 / 5, 13 - cost $8 for $1

Early Quaddie (race 2 to 5) - 2, 3 / 4, 14 / 4, 5, 9 / 4, 5, 6 - cost $36 for $1

NSW BIG 6 (races 4 to 9) - 5, 9 / 4, 5, 6 / 3, 13 / 3, 6 / 5, 8 / 3, 5, 13 - cost $144 for $1

Treble (races 7 to 9) - 3, 5, 6 / 5, 6, 8 / 3, 5, 13 - cost $27 for $1

Jockeys Challenge
Well, who knows what will run and won’t run after the track is finalised. I am going for Andrew Adkins the young apprentice from the Northern Rivers making a name for himself in Sydney to just pip Tye Angland.
