CALLOUS SNUB TO STAKEHOLDERS AS RACING QUEENSLAND AWARDS CEREMONIES POSTPONED

The curt three paragraph press release was unsigned. That said it all.

After all, who would want to be associated with the astonishing decision by Racing Queensland to postpone the awards ceremonies for this year?

The release at 5.21 on Thursday afternoon also showed the author has a poor memory span. Maybe.

It alludes to the Greyhound Awards having to be cancelled as well as thoroughbreds and harness racing.

Is their recollection of events so short they forgot the Greyhound Awards were cancelled five months ago as a result of the live baiting scandal?

Does that give us a clue that the author may not have been in the building when that decision was taken?

Or does the author want to remain nameless because such an arrogant, short sighted attitude would expose he or she for their obvious shortcomings.

Many in the industry were starting to rally to the cause that this temporary regime were trying to right some wrongs. Some goodwill was being offered.

That has all but evaporated after this callous snub to stakeholders.

It could be interpreted that Racing Queensland blames the stakeholders for the current financial position. What other way can it be observed?

The annual awards affords our most successful to be congratulated.

Will their efforts now be consigned to a press release? Unsigned, maybe.

Such effrontery beggars belief.

At least the architect of such arrogance should have the guts to put their hand up rather than hide behind a three paragraph press release.

Mr Hall, a week ago on Radio TAB you promised the industry transparency. This episode is a shaky start to say the least.
