WHATJEUDOIN' BACK IN WINNING FORM

By Graham Potter | Wednesday, September 30, 2026

The Matt Kropp trained Whatjeudoin’ regained winning form and did so on the midweek Metropolitan stage when he landed a BM68 Handicap over 2240m at Doomben on September 30.

The son on Nom De Jeu, who was a $6 chance, was well handled by Cejay Graham.

Graham took the seven-year-old back across the field from the widest gate and was content to her mount relax and race at the rear of the field, some five lengths off the lead … staying off the rail … all the way until the 700m.

That was where Graham elected to make a forward move out three wide, quickly improving to race in close-up, lead stalking third place approaching the home turn, leaving the Kropp trained runner perfectly poised to strike on straightening.

But it was going to be a fight as the early leaders, Power Of Success ($4.40) and Avasaki ($12), kicked on in the first half of the straight and the $2.60 race favourite Super Fair began to close from behind, making up ground on the outside.

Whatjeudoin’ was up for the fight, and he stuck on gamey in a highly pressurised finish with Graham urgings helping get Whatjeudoin’s head across the line first, only getting there in the last strides, which is the only time you need to be in front.

That’s nine wins now for Whatjeudoin’ and this latest result pushed his career earnings through the $200 000 mark.
