THE GERAN FAMILY BECOME LOCAL HEROES AS LET'SFACETHEMUSIC RUNS AWAY WITH THE WEETWOOD

The Geran family became local hero’s when their combined training and riding expertise, along with a willing partner in the form of the five-year-old gelding Let’sfacethemusic, aligned to produce a local winner in the $200 000 Weetwood Handicap, Toowoomba’s signature race on the club’s biggest race-day.
In truth, the Corey and Kylie Geran trained Let’sfacethemusic, who was a clearcut, but still easy to back favourite at $3.80, never let any of his eleven rivals into the race, dominating proceedings from the moment he found the lead early on, a position Gary Geran had been determined to secure from the jump.
Once there, the son of I Am Invincible maintained a strong, resolute frontrunning performance that effectively already had the race won halfway up the home straight as Let’sfacethemusic kicked away in fine fashion, turning a one length advantage on the point of the home turn into a three length lead passing the 200m mark to land a big win.
Let’sfacethemusic originally raced under the care of the Mick Price and Michael Kent (Jnr) training partnership where he raced fourteen times for a single win (and five runner-up finishes) before transferring to the Geran stable.
This is not the first time that Team Geran has made an astute purchase from a top stable down south and their expertise with tried horses is exemplified by Let’sfacethemusic who has now won five times in nine starts for his new stable, on two occasions scoring back-to-back race wins.
Cosmic Fire ($9) won the race behind Let’sfacethemusic to earn a hard-fought second place by the narrowest of margins ahead of the third-placed Brave Monarch ($5.50
