ZAC LLOYD WILL KICK OFF HIS WORKING HOLIDAY WITH HIS FIRST RIDE IN BRITAIN THIS WEEKEND

By Graham Potter | Thursday, June 4, 2026

Young gun Zac Lloyd will take invaluable step in his all round growth as a jockey when he embarks on another experience gathering exercise at Doncaster this weekend where he have his first race ride in Britain on Ruler Of Time for no less a stable than that of Charlie Appleby, who trains exclusively for the Godolphin juggernaut.

Lloyd is also due to ride Madjid for Harry Charlton at Doncaster.

Lloyd has enjoyed a positive relationship with Godolphin, having spent time as an apprentice with the ‘Blue Army’ under James Cummings in Australia at an important, formative stage of his career … and, three years ago, he did take make good use of his time off when visiting Britain and riding work for Appleby in a brief visit when serving a suspension.

This will be the start of a working holiday for Lloyd which is set to include plans to ride at Royal Ascot, which will be an amazing experience, in itself, for the young rider looking to improve his game.

After his stint in Britain, Lloyd will jet to South Africa to ride in that country’s premier race, the Durban July, which takes place at Greyville on July 4.
