COOL ARCHIE OUT OF THE GOLD EDITION

Cool Archie, Queensland’s Two-Year-Old Horse Of The year, will not take his place in the Listed Gold Edition Plate at Eagle Farm on Saturday, a race which was scheduled to kick off his three-year-old career.
A media release by the Chris and Corey Munce stable explains Cool Archie’s absence on Saturday where he would have been aiming to score a sixth successive victory following a winning sequence which took him from a win in Maiden company to a Group 1 win in the J J Atkins in a two-month form blitz.
The media release reads:
‘Following Cool Archie’s final piece of work this morning ahead of Saturday’s Gold Edition, we were not completely happy with how he pulled up.
‘Cool Archie has been taken to WestVets for further investigation. Above all else, Cool Archie’s welfare is our absolute priority. He is a Group 1 winning colt, and we will not race him unless he is 100%.
“For that reason, he will not take his place in Saturday’s Gold Edition.”
