DANIEL MOOR BRINGS HOME A LONG-PRICED WINNER IN HIS FIRST RIDE SINCE RELOCATING TO QUEENSLAND

Daniel Moor couldn’t have scripted it any better.
The Group 1 winning jockey took his first ride in Queensland today since moving his base from Victoria to the Sunshine State and he duly announced his arrival on the local scene in eye-catching fashion in the opening race on the card, making a telling statement when guiding the $19 chance Kickuphigh to a sweeping come-from-behind victory.
The first time the Desleigh Forster trained filly was in front was in the final two strides, after having five lengths to make up halfway up the home straight.
You could all it an inch perfect ride.
One win is just one win … there’s plenty of hard work left to come …but to score early in new surroundings does take the pressure off, to some degree at least.
That is what Moor has done and, on that basis alone, he is likely to leave the track at the end of the meeting pretty satisfied with his first-up result.
