Can there be any more twists in the Rothfire buildup to the Stradbroke Handicap?

Even at the eleventh hour , on race-day morning, there has been a change in Rothfire’s circumstances with Criag Williams taking over the ride from James McDonald.

McDonald has been battling illness this week and the routine, away from the normal, he had to follow during the week contributed to McDonald not being able to make the weight on the Robert Heathcote trained big race contender.

Craig Williams was available due the fact that Kimochi, the horse he was originally engaged to ride in the Stradbroke, was scratched late in the week after suffering a tendon injury.

Firestorm was pulled out even earlier than that meaning that the first two emergency acceptances, Coleman and Transatlantic are now in the field.
