REMEMBER WHEN: CEJAY AND THAT GUINEAS WIN!

The running of last year’s Group 2 Queensland Guineas, the 2025 edition of which takes place at Eagle Farm on Saturday, produced a joyous moment that put a smile on the face of all who witnessed it.

The race was won by the Gary Portelli trained Kintyre, but it was the winning rider Cejay Graham upon whom the spotlight shone so brightly that day.

The path taken to Graham’s first Group 2 success would have broken a person of lesser determination. The injuries along the way were severe. The disappointment involved in those tough times was immense. The pressure to fight back was intimidating. In truth, it would have been easier to fold than to push forward.

But push forward Graham did … on to a career highlight … and a piece of history which will forever be on her resume and etched in her mind as the first female rider to salute in a Queensland Guineas!
